The City of Kansas City, Mo., announces that its three leaf and brush drop-off centers will reopen on Saturday, March 15 at 8 a.m. The centers provide residents with a place to recycle their yard waste and pick up free and/or discounted mulch. They also are equipped to handle trees that may be affected by the emerald ash borer.

The drop-off sites are located at 11660 N. Main St., 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway and 10301 Raytown Road.

All three of the centers are open and free for residents to use on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, residents may also use the North Chouteau Trafficway and North Main Street sites on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a small fee. The Raytown site is only open on Saturdays.

In addition to dropping off leaves and brush, residents may also pick up mulch. Residents may pick up first ground mulch for free at all of the sites, or they may purchase natural darkwood, red and brown mulch and natural compost from the North Chouteau Trafficway and North Main Street sites for a discounted fee.

Residents needing to dispose of leaves and brush may also utilize the City’s curbside leaf and brush collection. The spring collection will take place from April 14 to May 2. Read a complete curbside leaf and brush pickup schedule at https://www.kcwaterservices.org/leaf-brush/.
